Keyword Density (KD)

At its most basic level, KD refers to the percentage of total words on the page that are keywords. So, for example, to be properly optimized, you might need a 3% KD on Google and a 2% KD on Alta Vista. 2%-3% is considered a good keyword density.

Formulas for calculating KD (Keyword Density)

KW Density (KD) = Occurrence / Unique words
KW Density (KD) = Occurrence / Total words

Where total words would be the number of the words written in body excluding the html tags and Occurrence would be the number of a particular keyword. Keyword Density would be calculated for individual Keywords.
